We read their stories online. Now it is time to see them on paper for us to keep and cherish.

alQaws organized a launch event today for the print version of its Tarwiha* comic series. The launch included a discussion about the process of creating the series at alQaws, imagining spaces to express sexuality through visual language, and educational questions addressing sexual and gender diversity among youth and adolescents. Copies of the comic book were handed out for a small fee, and we raised our glass and danced together to celebrate the launch.

alQaws hoped that the launch would be a space to extend the dialogue about these issues, and to meet readers and listen to their feedback. We were thrilled to have everyone sharing this milestone with us at Scene Music Bar in Haifa.

*Tarwiha is a comic series about school kids living diverse sexual and gender experiences, launched online periodically by alQaws since May 2018.
